What is beauty?

Beauty is only skin deep..
So the saying goes.
Is it really so?
“The bewitching smile”,
“The women of substance”,
“The awe and breathtaking beauty”
to mention a few phrases
makes me wonder
Is beauty only skin deep !?

The act of courage,
The act of spirit.
The sacrifice at the altar of struggle.
The selfless act of motherly love,
Nature’s abundance,
Bright sunshine pristine rain
Are all beautiful.

Then what is beauty?
Someone said
“Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.”
Nay,
“Beauty is in the mind”.
